บทคัดย่อ :

การวิจัยนี้มีวัตถุประสงค์เพื่อศึกษาการค้าในวัฒนธรรมกูยอะจีง โดยศึกษาถึงพัฒนาการค้าตั้งแต่อดีตจนถึงปัจจุบัน ซึ่งใช้วิธีการวิจัยเชิงคุณภาพ สังเกตและการสัมภาษณ์เชิงลึก ประชากรที่ศึกษาคือกลุ่มชาติพันธ์กูยอะจีง บ้านตากลาง จังหวัดสุรินทร์ ผลการวิจัยพบว่า กูยอะจีงมีวัฒนธรรมอันโดดเด่นในการเลี้ยงช้างที่สืบทอดมาแต่บรรพบุรุษและช้างถือเป็นสัตว์เศรษฐกิจที่สร้างรายได้ให้กับคนเลี้ยงช้าง ในอดีตกูยอะจีงจับช้างป่าที่ประเทศกัมพูชามาขาย เมื่อมีการปิดกั้นพรมแดนใน พ.ศ. 2505การจับช้างป่ามาขายจำเป็นต้องหยุดไป จึงได้มีการนำช้างค้าเร่ไปยังสถานที่ต่างๆทั้งในจังหวัดและต่างจังหวัดทั่วทุกภูมิภาคของประเทศไทย ต่อมาเมื่อมีการพัฒนาประเทศโดยเน้นเศรษฐกิจเป็นสำคัญประกอบกับการห้ามนำช้างค้าเร่จึงได้ปรับเปลี่ยนวิถีการค้าในปัจจุบันให้มีความเหมาะสมและดำรงไว้ซึ่งวัฒนธรรมของตน โดยทำการค้าอยู่ในชุมชนสร้างสรรค์ผลิตภัณฑ์จากฝีมือและภูมิปัญญาประกอบกับวัฒนธรรมดั้งเดิมซึ่งมีความเป็นเอกลักษณ์เฉพาะตัวที่งดงามเป็นทุนที่มีรากฐานของวัฒนธรรมอันเป็นมรดกล้ำค่าจากบรรพบุรุษที่หลอมรวมระหว่างคนกับช้างจนกลายเป็นหมูบ้านที่มีชื่อเสียงในปัจจุบัน

Abstract :

 This research aims to study the trade in Kui-Ajieng cultural by studying on the development process from past up to present. A research was carried out by using the qualitative research method in both observation and in-depth interviews. The population was the ethnic group of Kui-Ajieng in Taklang village, Surin province.         The results showed that Kui-Ajieng have a unique cultural heritage of the elephant raising since their ancestors and elephant also known as their economicelephants which mostly live in Cambodia for trading. After the boundary between Thailand and Cambodia was closed off, the wild elephant trading also The results showed that Kui-Ajieng have a unique cultural heritage of the elephant raising since their ancestors and elephant also known as their economic animal which is the main income for the mahouts. In the past, Kui-Ajieng caught the wild elephants which mostly live in Cambodia for trading. After the boundary between Thailand and Cambodia was closed off, the wild elephant trading also stopped so that Kui-Ajieng began to sell in various locations both within the province and other provinces all around regions of Thailand. Later on, when the economic policy was emphasis on economic development as well as the travel selling goods by elephants was banned by government, Kui-Ajieng adjusted their trading way as in present and also preserves their own culture properly.         They mostly traded within their local with the local production of crafts and wisdom of traditional cultures, which has a unique style with a capital base of the precious heritage of their ancestors. These elements which mentioned above were combined of man and elephant into the unity of famous elephant village as in present.
